A monochromatic painting of a local artist who posed for a session of the weekly meetings of the Taos Society of Portrait artists.

Creating the likeness of a model in monochrome is a practice of seeing people as they are with concentrated attention to details of the face. This process can open new ways to perceive outside of our ‘normal’ way of seeing beauty. It’s a fun and expressive practice—and hard work, too!
